There's nothing worse than turning on the shower and learning your hot water heater has gone on the fritz. When you're looking for plumbing contractors for water heater service in Windsor, Co, or in Greeley, CO and the surrounding area, we're here to help.
There are a number of options when it comes to water heaters: gas or electric tank hot water heaters, propane tank water heaters, and tankless water heaters. They come in several sizes and are made by quite a few manufacturers. We proudly sell and install Rheem hot water heaters.
Most water heaters will last for 10-15 years, although over time they become less efficient. If your water heater is less than 10 years old and the tank is not leaking, it is often more affordable to have it repaired. The best time to decide about a new water heater is BEFORE yours breaks down. If your water heater is nearing the expected end of its useful life, give us a call. We'll come out and provide a free consultation, helping you to decide what to select. And we'll leave you with on-site quotes, so you make your decision for the best options suited to your needs and budget.

Electric Water Heater or Gas Water Heater?
Tank-type water heaters keep water continuously hot and ready to use and have been keeping residential water hot for more than 100 years in the U.S.
We install and service all makes and models of water heaters, including natural gas, electric and propane.
Gas water heaters can initially cost more, but tend to have lower operating costs. ENERGY STAR rated water heaters conserve energy and sometimes come with state or utility company rebates. We will provide any available rebate information during our home consultation.
Electric water heaters, while often less expensive to install, tend to have higher operating costs. In homes that are already all-electric, you may wish to install an electric water heater rather than budget for the expense of adding the plumbing for a gas water heater. During our home consultation we can explain all the options and costs to you, and help you determine what's best for your pocketbook.
Either way, tank size will depend on the number of people in your household and your daily hot water usage. Obviously a large family will need more hot water for showers, laundry, and dishwashing than a childless couple, or small family.
Common Problems with Water Heaters
- You are noticing water leaking at the top, side, or bottom of the tank. This is usually caused by rusting of the tank, and will lead to the unit failing over time.
- The water pressure is too low, usually caused by leaking.
- The water won't heat. The pilot light is off. It may need repair or it may need to be replaced.
- The pilot light goes out and needs to be relit often. Generally caused by flakes of rust falling from the tank onto the pilot light. Eventually, the unit will fail.
- You smell a gas leak. The water heater should be turned off at once, and a plumber called immediately. This could end as a very dangerous or even fatal event.
Not A Homeowner Fix-it Project
An improperly installed or repaired unit can lead to poor performance, high energy cost, or even potential dangers. Choosing the right plumbing contractor will make all the difference.
If your water heater needs maintenance, we can often schedule a same-day appointment to fix it. We are experienced with all types of traditional water heaters. and the newer tankless ones, too.
