What Your Neighbors Say About Us
"We have used High Country Plumbing twice since we recently moved into an existing home in Windsor. They were able to come replace our water heater and 3 toilets within 1 week after they were contacted. They worked quickly and efficiently and did a nice clean installation. We were so pleased with their work ethic that we again had them come back to install a new kitchen granite sink, faucet, and disposal." Dennis E.
"I am really happy with High Country Plumbing! Steve and Josh are both master plumbers, and when my water heater died, they came out the next day with a new Rheems 50 gallon water heater. They are fast, friendly, courteous and they clean up after themselves. They took my old water heater away, too. I thought they were very reasonably priced. Would recommend them to anyone!" C.G.
Water Heater Repair and Replacement Service
If you're looking for water heater repair or water heater replacement in Windsor, CO, Greeley CO or the surrounding area, we are the professionals to call. We can repair almost any brand. And we proudly sell Rheem water heaters in a number of styles and sizes, to fit any home and any family.
Proper water heater repair and maintenance means you get more years until you have to replace your water heater. No matter the brand or the model, proper maintenance is essential. That way, you avoid loss of efficiency and more complicated and expensive repairs in the future.
We encourage you to have your water heater scheduled for an annual maintenance check every year, to catch any problems before they get serious. And there are warning signs you can see and hear, before the heater needs replacement.
For example, does your water is giving off a rotten egg or garlic odor (sulfuric smell)? Or is your water is beginning to look rust-colored? If so, your sacrificial anode rod may be ineffective. This rod is made of magnesium or aluminum around a steel core, and "sacrifices" itself to the normal corrosion inside the water tank. That spares the tank walls from rusting. If the rod has broken down, it may be possible to replace it. And if we can, then you may not have to replace the entire water heater. Typically, a rod lasts about six years. We can easily determine if that's a option for you.
Other times, you may find you're running out of hot water too quickly. That may be caused by sediment or debris in the tank. Does your tank make a rumbling noise as it heats? Then you probably have sediments deposits in the bottom of the tank. Sediments make the tank bottom overheat, and the rumbling is the sound of water boiling in the base of your tank. A drain and flush may solve the problem. Some water heater manufacturers require this annually to protect the warranty. It should be part of annual maintenance.
A broken dip-tube will also cause a lack of hot water. The dip-tube directs cold water to the bottom of the heater. There, the cold water mixes with the hot water at the bottom of the tank. If the tube is broken, cold water simply stays at the top of the heater, and your tap water will not be warm enough. A plumber needs to make this repair for you.
Water Heater Replacement
Sometimes, though, there's no alternative to replacing your water heater. If your water heater is showing signs of age, like sediment build-up and reduced efficiency, it may be more practical and budget-friendly to get a new water heater installed. New heaters are more energy efficient. With proper maintenance, may last many years. A growing family can also demand more hot water than their current heater can provide.
Whatever your reasons, give us a call when you're ready to replace your current water heater. We'll work within your budget to get you the best water heater for your needs.
